  • At the beginning, you saw an advertisement – most likely on social media – frequently featuring images of well-known individuals or logos of renowned companies, with enticing information about an investment opportunity.
  • Then, you clicked the link out of curiosity and filled out a contact form. After some time, a representative of the "investment platform" contacted you by phone, talking about the possibility of quick earnings. Your contact person likely had a foreign accent and reached out to you from various phone numbers.
  • Next what you did, you cautiously made a small initial investment. You gained access to a "professional-looking" but fictitious "investment platform" where you could see real-time "profits" from your "investments".
  • And then, out of the blue, you started having second thoughts. Small things are starting to act up. Before you finally realised what is going on, it was too late.

  • Initially, you just wanted to verify if the crypto-platform was reliable and decided to withdraw your earnings. The case involved an investment fraud, where the victim lost approximately $80,000. The funds were converted into Bitcoin and subsequently transferred to external addresses. During the conducted analysis, we managed to identify several target addresses belonging to the Kraken exchange.

The case pertained to a classic investment fraud, where the victim lost approximately $25,000. The funds were converted into the stablecoin Tether [USDT] and subsequently transferred to external addresses. During the conducted analysis, we identified one target address belonging to the Binance exchange.

Our court-appointed expert issued a statement for the purposes of the preparatory proceedings for one of the district police. An unknown individual gained unauthorized access to the victim's account on one of the decentralized DeFi platforms and transferred various tokens with a total value of nearly 125,000 [USD]. During the analysis conducted, it was possible to identify several addresses on the Ethereum network belonging to two major cryptocurrency exchanges.

In this case – based on periodic electricity meter readings and information about the mining rigs used – we were able to credibly estimate the number of Ether [ETH] cryptocurrency units mined by a certain entity over the past several years.
